Power BI

We build Power BI dashboards on the data you already have, put each person on the right licence and set up sharing so reports reach only the people who should see them. We manage Microsoft 365 for clients every day, so your dashboards sit inside a tenant we know and support.

01Where Power BI goes wrong
Signs your Power BI needs attention
Power BI is quick to start and easy to get wrong. These are the problems we are asked to fix most often.
- 01
Reports still arrive as Excel attachments
Someone runs the numbers, saves a spreadsheet and emails it around. By Wednesday it is out of date and there are four versions.
FixDashboards in the Power BI service that refresh on a schedule and open in the browser, in Teams or on a phone.
- 02
Dashboards nobody maintains
They were built by someone who has since left. The refresh fails quietly and people stop trusting the numbers.
FixA documented data model, refresh failures raised with our service desk and changes made by people who know the setup.
- 03
People on the wrong licence
Microsoft says a user on a free licence cannot view content shared outside Premium capacity, so reports fail to open. Others pay for Premium Per User and never use it.
FixEach person licensed for what they do, checked against how they use Power BI.
- 04
Reports shared too widely
A report shared by link or with the whole company can show salaries, margins or client data to people who should never see them.
FixSharing through Microsoft Entra ID groups and workspace roles, with row level security where different people should see different rows.
Already running Power BI but not sure it is set up well? We can review workspaces, licences, sharing and refreshes.

Which licence each person needs
Most small and medium businesses need Power BI Pro for the people who build or share reports. This is how Microsoft's main options compare.

Prices from Microsoft Australia at September 2026, excluding GST. Power BI Pro is included in Microsoft 365 E5. Larger organisations can buy Fabric capacity instead of licensing every viewer. Microsoft changes prices, so we confirm current pricing in your quote.

Send us the outline. A technical consultant will scope it with you and come back with a fixed price.
04How it works
From scope to live dashboard
A fixed price for your first dashboard before any work starts, then a dashboard your managers have tested against real numbers.
- Step 1
Scope and quote
We agree the questions the dashboard must answer and check your data sources and licences. You get a fixed price quote.
- Step 2
Connect and model
We connect the sources, clean the data and write down how each measure is calculated, so every chart uses the same definitions.
- Step 3
Build and review
We build the first dashboard, review it with the people who will use it and adjust it until the numbers match your own.
- Step 4
Share and support
Sharing, refresh schedules and access are set up. We hand over documentation and our service desk supports it from then on.

08Questions
Power BI questions
What businesses ask before they commit. Anything else, call 1300 787 429.
01How much does Power BI cost in Australia?
There are two parts. At September 2026, Microsoft charges AU$21.00 per user per month for Power BI Pro and AU$35.90 for Premium Per User, paid yearly and excluding GST. Our work to build and set up your dashboards is a fixed quote before we start.
02Do we need Pro or Premium Per User?
Most people who build, share or read shared reports need Pro. Premium Per User adds larger data models and more frequent refreshes, which suits analysts working with large datasets. We look at how each person uses Power BI before recommending a licence, so nobody pays for features they will not use.
03How long does a first dashboard take?
The fixed price scope sets out the dates before we start. Most of the time goes into connecting and checking the data, not drawing charts. If your data is already in good shape, the first dashboard comes together quickly.
04Can Power BI connect to our accounting, CRM or job system?
Power BI connects to Excel, SharePoint, databases and many cloud services. Where a system has no ready connector, we use a scheduled export or an API connection. We check every source while scoping and tell you what is possible before you commit.
05Who can see our reports?
Only the people you choose. We share reports through Microsoft Entra ID groups and workspace roles, so access follows each person's job and ends when they leave. Where people should see only their own rows, such as their own branch, we add row level security.
06We already have someone who builds reports in Excel. Can you work with them?
Yes. They are often the best person to own Power BI day to day. We build the data model and set up licensing and sharing, then train them to add and change reports. Ongoing support can sit within our IT support plans.
