Azure managed services
Azure managed services with the bill kept in check
We design, migrate, secure and run Microsoft Azure for your business, with a monthly review of the bill so it does not creep. We also run our own Perth private cloud, so we will tell you when a workload belongs somewhere other than Azure.

- 3Local data centres behind AustinCloud, for workloads that suit private cloud better

01Where it goes wrong
Signs your Azure needs an owner
Azure makes it easy to start and easy to overspend. These are the problems we find most often when we first look at a subscription.
- 01
The bill grows every month
Servers sized for the busiest day run all year, test machines never get switched off and nobody set a budget alert.
FixBudgets and alerts, right sizing and reserved pricing where usage is steady, reviewed with you every month.
- 02
Servers moved across as they were
A lift and shift from an old server room kept every old problem. Now each one runs on a meter.
FixEach workload reviewed on its own: resize it, rebuild it, replace it with a SaaS product or move it to a fixed cost platform.
- 03
Security left at the defaults
Management ports open to the internet, shared admin accounts and no logging to show who changed what.
FixSecurity baselines on every subscription: Entra ID sign in with MFA for admins, private networking and logging.
- 04
Slower since the move
Microsoft's Australian Azure regions are in New South Wales, Victoria and Canberra, so every request from an office in WA crosses the country.
FixEach workload placed to suit where its users are, with systems that need low latency kept closer to home.
02What we manage
Azure, looked after properly
Microsoft runs the platform. We run what you put on it: design, security, cost, backup and the monitoring and alerts we set up on the workloads we manage.
Design and governance
Subscriptions, naming, tags, budgets and access set up so every resource has an owner and a cost centre.
Subscriptions / tags / accessSecurity baselines
The same baselines we apply everywhere: Entra ID sign in with MFA, least privilege admin access and logging.

When Azure is the right call
We run Azure and our own private cloud, AustinCloud, so we have no reason to push you towards either. This is how we decide.
A strong fit Microsoft Azure
- +Applications built on Azure services, such as Azure SQL or app hosting
- +Workloads with big peaks or short lives, such as projects, testing and seasonal systems
- +Azure Virtual Desktop for staff who need a full Windows desktop from anywhere
- +Systems that need to sit close to Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- +A recovery site for disasters without building a second server room
Probably another option We will say so
- ×Core systems that run all day every day, where fixed monthly pricing in AustinCloud is easier to budget
- ×Workloads that send a lot of data out of the cloud, where egress charges add up. AustinCloud has no data egress charges
- ×Systems that must keep data in Western Australia. AustinCloud runs in three data centres in WA
Want all three options side by side? Our cloud page compares AustinCloud, Azure and an on site server.

04Azure migration
How we move a workload to Azure
You get a plain English plan and a fixed quote before anything moves. Every cutover has a way back.
- Stage 1
Assess
We list your servers and applications, measure how they are used and decide which belong in Azure, which in AustinCloud and which should be retired.
- Stage 2
Design
Subscriptions, networking, identity, security baselines, backup and budgets designed before anything moves.
- Stage 3
Migrate in waves
Workloads move in planned groups. Each cutover window is agreed in advance, usually outside business hours, with a tested way back.
- Stage 4
Run and review
Monitoring and alerts we set up, patching and a monthly review of cost, security and backup health.

06Recognised and certified
A top 50 MSP in Australia, three years running
Cloudtango named Austin Technology in its top 50 managed service providers in Australia in 2024, 2025 and 2026. We are also certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, so the way we protect your data and run your service is checked by an independent auditor every year.

ISO 27001
Information securityOur information security management system covers how we handle client data, credentials and access to your systems, certified by Compass Assurance Services and audited every year.
How we protect your data
ISO 9001
Quality managementSupport tickets, projects and onboarding follow documented processes, so you get the same standard of work whichever engineer picks up your job. Ask us for our certificates when you run a supplier review or tender.
01How much does Azure cost to run and manage?
Microsoft bills Azure on usage, so the bill moves month to month with what you run. Our management is a fixed monthly fee, quoted once we have scoped it with you. We set budgets and alerts so you see a change in cost before the invoice arrives.
02Is our data stored in Australia or in Perth?
Microsoft's Australian Azure regions are in New South Wales, Victoria and Canberra, and we keep your workloads in Australian regions. If a system needs to stay in Western Australia, AustinCloud runs in three Perth data centres.
03Should we use Azure or AustinCloud?
Often both. Azure suits applications built on its services, big peaks and virtual desktops. AustinCloud suits steady core systems that need fixed pricing, no egress charges or data kept in WA. When we scope it, we recommend a home for each workload.
04How long does an Azure migration take, and is there downtime?
It depends on how many systems move. The design stage gives you dates before we start. Each wave has a cutover window agreed with you in advance, usually outside business hours. We test a way back first.
05Are we locked in?
Not to us. Azure itself is pay as you go unless you choose reserved pricing, which trades a longer commitment for a lower rate. We explain that trade before you commit.
06Can you take over from our current Azure partner or work with our IT person?
Yes. We review what is running, document it and take over admin access in a planned handover. If you have an internal IT person, we agree who does what at the start and they keep full visibility of the subscription.
