Construction IT support from office to site

We look after IT for Perth builders, civil contractors and construction services businesses. Site offices that stay connected, project platforms that work in the field and protection against the invoice fraud that targets the industry.

01The risks

What goes wrong on and off site

The Australian Federal Police warned in 2025 that criminals target construction because of its high value transactions, frequent invoicing and often limited cyber security resources.

  1. A progress claim is paid to the wrong account

Attackers get into a supplier's or subcontractor's mailbox, wait for a payment run, then send an invoice with new bank details at exactly the right moment.

FixMFA and email security on every mailbox, plus a rule that bank detail changes are confirmed by phone on a number you already hold.

  2. The site office drops out

A site shed on a single 4G modem loses drawings, timesheets and email every time the signal fades.

Fix4G and 5G with external antennas, satellite where coverage is poor and SD-WAN failover, set up before the site opens.

  3. Crews come and go

Labour hire, subcontractors and short projects leave behind accounts and devices that nobody is tracking.

FixJoiner and leaver processes and managed tablets and phones, with guest access to project files that ends when the job does.

  4. Project records live everywhere

Drawings, RFIs, site diaries and payment records spread across Procore or Aconex, email, phones and personal drives.

FixA clear home for each type of record in SharePoint and your project platform, with backups you can restore from.

03Payment fraud

Four rules that stop payment redirection

Technology makes mailbox takeover harder, but process is what stops the money leaving. These are the rules we help clients put in place, in line with ACSC and WA ScamNet advice.

  1. 01
Call before you change bank details

Confirm every change by phone, on a number you already hold, never one from the email that asked for the change.

  2. 02
    Two people approve new payees

New payees and large payments need a second approver in your banking and accounts system.

  3. 03
    MFA on every mailbox

Including site supervisors, estimators and shared accounts, which are the ones attackers look for.

  4. 04
    Tell your supply chain

Let suppliers and clients know how you will, and will not, ever change your bank details.

We set up the technical side and give your accounts team a short written process.

06Questions

Construction IT questions

What builders and contractors ask us most. Anything else, call 1300 787 429.

01

Can you set up IT for a new site office?

Yes. We plan connectivity, Wi-Fi, devices and printing for site offices and have them working for the first day on site, then recover the equipment for the next job when the project ends.

02

Do you support Procore and Aconex?

We support the devices, accounts, connectivity and Microsoft 365 integrations these platforms rely on, and work with the vendor when there is an application issue. Procore's mobile app works offline with items it has already cached, then syncs when the connection returns, so good site connectivity still matters.

03

How do we stop fake invoices being paid?

Combine MFA and email security with a payment process: confirm every bank detail change by phone on a known number, and require two approvals for new payees and large payments.

04

How should we keep records for the WA retention trust scheme?

The scheme applies to contracts of $20,000 or more entered into from 1 February 2024, and trustees must keep records of trust transactions. We make sure those records sit in systems that are backed up, access controlled and recoverable. Your accountant or adviser covers what must be kept.

05

Can crews use their own phones?

Yes, with the right setup. Intune app protection keeps work email and files inside managed apps, and we can remove them when someone leaves without touching their personal data.

06

Do you support regional projects?

Remote support covers all of WA. We set up site connectivity and devices before crews arrive, and onsite visits cover the Perth metro area.
