Client success storiesDisability and nursing care
Essential Nursing and Disability Services supports NDIS participants with complex nursing needs in supported independent living and respite houses around Perth. Each house shares one PC between a rotating roster of carers. We brought every device under management, then made sure company data only opens on company devices, without making the shared PCs harder to use.

Essential Nursing runs from a head office in Mirrabooka with care houses across the metro area, and it keeps opening more. When it joined us in late 2022 it was moving from Google to Microsoft 365, and its computers ran Windows Home editions with no central management. Carers needed quick access to rosters and house documents, while the business needed to know where its data could go.
Each house has one computer used by whoever is on shift. Some houses go quiet for days, and many connect over wifi only.
Microsoft 365 could be reached from any device with the right password, including personal phones and home computers.
Every new house needs a mailbox, shared folders and a working PC from the first shift.
We designed the controls around how the houses actually work, with one set of rules for the head office and another for shared house PCs.
Windows Home editions upgraded to Pro, every device enrolled in device management and security baselines applied to all users and devices.
Conditional Access requires a managed, compliant device for Microsoft 365 and blocks older sign in methods. Personal phones and home computers stay out.
Each PC needs disk encryption, endpoint protection and a supported version of Windows before it can open company data.
USB storage is blocked, and house accounts can read SharePoint documents in the browser without downloading them.
Every policy ran in report only mode first, against a Windows 11 test machine and a written test plan, before it was switched on.
A repeatable setup for each new house: mailbox, folders and a configured office PC. Belmont, Glendalough, Nollamara and Wembley were set up this way in 2026.
From late 2022 we onboarded every device, finished the move to Microsoft 365 and upgraded the PCs to Windows Pro.
In August 2025 we scoped the security project with the general manager, with separate device groups for the office and the houses.
Policies ran in report only mode against a test machine and a test plan, so we could see what would break before anything did.
House laptops were onboarded in November 2025, with the cutover planned alongside the service delivery team.
Planned and delivered by our team in Subiaco, Perth.

“Very helpful and friendly. Quick and easy solution to my query.”
We're now restructuring Essential Nursing's SharePoint and Teams so access follows each person's role and every house has its own space, rolling out one house at a time.
Every story follows the same shape: the problem, what we changed and what happened next.
