Client success storiesAged care
Roshana Care Group started with a single mental health facility in Midland. It now runs more than 20 care facilities across five states, with over 3,000 staff in aged care, home care, retirement living, mental health, disability support and primary care. Its own IT team looks after staff and sites. We run the core: the servers in AustinCloud and the VPN hub its facilities connect back to, now with a standby gateway ready to take over if the main one fails.

01The challenge
Roshana grows by building and buying homes, from regional New South Wales to Melbourne, Brisbane and Murray Bridge. Every new home needs secure access to the same central files and sign in services from its first day, for a workforce of more than 3,000 people. Roshana has its own IT team, so it wanted a partner to run the core infrastructure while its people looked after staff, devices and sites.
Openings and acquisitions meant a new site could need access to central files within days, often in another state.
File storage needed expanding again and again as the group added homes and services.
Every home's connection ran through a single gateway. Roshana wanted a hardware failure to be a non event.
02What we did
A clear split: Roshana's IT team looks after users, devices and the router at each home. We host and run the servers, backups and the hub every home connects to.
Roshana's domain controller and file servers run in our private cloud in Perth, patched, protected and backed up by us.
Storage expanded whenever Roshana needed it, and a fifth file server added in 2026 to spread the load.
Roshana's team sets up the router at each new home and we connect the tunnel on our side, usually the same day.
When Roshana moved its homes to a new networking platform, we hosted its gateway in our data centre and checked the existing tunnels were stable before cutting the servers over.
A second gateway sits beside the first on a separate power feed, ready to take over automatically if the primary fails.
Managed backups for every server, with copies held away from the production environment.
03How we delivered it
From 2022, Roshana's servers moved off office hardware into AustinCloud, starting with one cloud server.
In 2024 we helped Roshana retire its older domain controllers, leaving fewer servers to patch and protect.
Since 2023, homes in Perth, regional WA, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia have connected back through the hub, most within a day of the router going in.
In 2026 a second gateway went in on a separate power feed, and confirmed ready to take over before handover.
Planned and delivered by our team in Subiaco, Perth.

04The results
Roshana is now looking at moving more of its files into SharePoint, with a copy kept on site, and we're helping plan how that should be structured.
